I feel like social media has changed me from being someone who enjoyed spending their free alone time reading,listening to music,writing,thinking,watching movies/shows,exercising etc. to some lonely,depressed,insecure person that feels like everyone else is living some amazing life while Im doing nothing exciting with mine.
How can you describe how I feel right now when I couldn’t even put it in words myself
Exactly…. But now I am quitting.. 😌
true
Same! It’s so draining and it always kills my good mood… I can have a really good day, just doing my thing, I am kind of a loner and without social media I loved that ❤but when I log in nowadays I always feel anxious/nervous/depressed etc. The competive part is also sooo exhausting. And people who post every single day… I mean some people have really weird expectations😒 why do I have to know what you do all day, yeah kinda strange 🙄 just the feeling that you have to respond/keep up with everything is just a waste of my time and energy.
Same problem..i feel depressed
social media seriously harms your mental health.
@Wanjiru Karago hau niwaria ma
honestly it’s not terrible
it helps with depression at least
That’s what I feel now
Yup !!!!
Facts most people don’t understand this
I’ve been out from social media for almost a month now, and I’ve never felt better 🙂
Less toxicity, less drama, less jealousy, less gossip
and when you left soc med that’s when you realize you’re so lonely, that’s what I felt… But I used to pray so it’s never a problem
@Karma yes! Thats how u know if peoples care or not. This is why i quit instagram , i also delete my line (too much contacts that even never chat )and make a new one. And you will know who will try to call you through phone number or whatsapp.. its mean they are someone who care about you. 😊
@Lisa Lisa rn I’m focusing on my dreams, my talents to improve. Cuz when I was stuck on social media and fake friends, my grades were dragged down and my teachers hated the way my attitude changed. Now, I’m working on my self for a better change ^_^
Deleting social media is best thing really! if you think that fb or instagram keeps you entertained then you’re wrong, entertainment has many sources!
I delete my every app ( I just have messenger to talk one day on week with my bff and YouTube) I started loving yourself, it’s getting stronger every day. I started learning new things, reading books this way how I was. I’m going for a walks and I’m grateful for small things. Try it everyone, do not waste your life!
I recently quit social media for a whole week. Might sound like a super short period of time, but the change it brings to your mental stability is invaluable.
the thing with socials is you dont notice how long you spend on it unless you quit it
have been planning to do this so badly because the time I spend on social media really affects how productive my days become. these comments just inspired me that I could do it too 🙂

I did the same thing. I deactivated my account for a week and it really helps even if it’s only for a short period of time. :)!Hope you are all doing well in this crazy times. 💗
I did that too and it felt lighter. I’m not sure how to describe it. I always have this fear of missing out and have comparison problems too. It’s definitely debilitating
I’m so glad I’m not alone!!! I quit social media since January 2019. It’s truly the best decision ever.
Should you quit or use it, waste time on the internet, Is it addictive, blame dopamine, if you’re not learning from it, photos you haven’t seen before, distracted from daily life, do you need it, read about it on social media, if it makes you feel weird, does it make you happy🗯
During current lockdown situation i noticed that social media develops anxiety and seriously harms mental health. You did a great analysis keep it up man.
Being an introvert and having very less friends, it is easy to quit socialmedia for me
Introverts have friends though
I am happy that there are people who understand ;-;
Same
Same bro
sometimes its the opposite… Like in “what else am I supposed to do?”
I am addicted to YouTube than any other app 😂 but I don’t feel insecure like I used to feel when I had Instagram etc.
I think it’s because we’re on YouTube to watch content and to share ideas and comments anonymously, if chosen to do so. Instagram and fb is about impressing others
@Jesse Bain so accurate!
YT isn’t really social media
@Louise Fernández true
Youtube is fine because it has so many information to watch or choose from no toxic post of your friends no photos of your friends just only information you want to learn
I just deleted my Instagram account. Honestly it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from me.
Same
Yes same I feel like a whole new person ngl !!
Same here
i wish i could too 😂

*Here’s My Story*
So when i was in high school i was socially very active i liked getting attention,followers and good comments. Earlier i was really good in studies but because i started using social media so often i started to loose interest in studying and was all day on my phone n i was _super active_ like on twitter,fb n insta as a result i scored below average in high school and in India high school marks r very important. So when my result came out the reality hit me pretty hard i was shaken inside i was grounded for few months too which was really needed my parents took my phone and in that span of time i realise those followers attention may give u short time pleasure but the real happiness is knowing ur own worth n achieving something in life. Today it’s been 2 years i have quitted all the social media platform…i came 2nd in 11th standard ryt now i am still stuck with my 12th final bcoz of quarantine bt i know my exams r going pretty well n i am never going back to those social media platform till i achieve things which i deserve in my life.
😋😋😋
It’s weird, because when I was a kid, sitting on a computer was not considered very social. Being in the presence of people, their energy, habits, peculiarities, humor—these subtleties can only socially be observed by spending time with actual people. In turn, you also learn that people can’t hide behind their bs social media page.
That’s similar to what I feel right now sadness without any reason and I actually found out that it was cuz of social media I deleted insta today
So me, but adding up PUBG, COC n relationship all stuffs.
Here tooo mannnnn deja chu 😶
That’s so inspiring and thank you for opening my eyes!
Funfact: youtube is more addicting than other social medias
Facebook is all I used but I have been away from that app going on 8 months in September
That’s not true
I disagree. I enjoy watching certain videos. On Twitter I open it to check something out. Next thing I know I’ve been scrolling 30 minutes
I actually quite prefer YouTube to other social media platforms and I think it’s because of the channels I’m subscribed to.
That’s tiktok
I’ve been quitting social media for almost 6 months now! Back then whenever I see pictures of my friends doing their best on their lives, I couldn’t help but compare them to myself. It was so frustrating. But now I feel much more better, I find myself reading more useful news and basically living life at my own pace.
Now I realized that because of social media, i lost interest in reading.. 😔 Whenever I’m reading I get so distracted and Im always wanting to get my phone and scroll mindlessly
Right – I’m reading and starting a business
Me too! Reading was the one thing that I always did no matter what and social media ruined it
same here, I need a rest.
Same i find everything boring except phone i lost interest at everything:((
I have the same with movies, especially now Fall is here I just love watching Fall or Wintery movies with a cup of tea ☕🍂Yesterday I just put my phone in another room and it felt so good, just relax and minding my own business. This morning I logged in again and I already felt that anxiety, that feeling that you have to keep up with everything people do, also people I’ve seen recently or that you have to react on something multiple times, in real life and on social media. It’s just ‘noise’ and I really want to take more social breaks. If you think about it, how weird is it, to watch what people do every day, especially people who post every day🙄. I have better things to do with my time and energy🤷♀️
I quit a couple months ago for every single reason you pointed out. I’d like to add a point: I got tired of all the negativity, stupidity, and hatred. I am now working on bettering myself and am mindful of my time on the internet. Thanks for making this video and putting yourself out there. I’m sure this video will help many, many people.
I have deleted instagram almost one month ago, now I am spending time to study, meditate, practice yoga and roller skate💗.
And it feels SO GOOD 🌸!
OwO I have took one year break from instagram starting from today! Till I feel that I’m back to normal me, and get good grades like before, wake up soon and start doing productive stuff and start my YouTube channel again! And become strong and independent! Until I do these all I won’t install instagram! Good luck to myself🥺💖
@Addie Vlogs Hope for the best for your journey:> <3
@Moana Pooh Tysm🥺💖
Thanks for this timetable ❤️
God bless
I just quit social media last night for the sake of my mental health. Deleted Instagram, Twitter and Facebook off my phone and went to bed as early as I could. It was difficult because I’m so used to scrolling through my timeline before bed. I really hope I can keep this up.
i will be joining u tommorow! we can do it : ) try do things instead to plenty ur time. try learn a new skill or focus on something until u become pro at it
Arty hey thank you so much! i’ve been trying to sketch again since that’s something i used to do a lot. you’re right we can do it. good luck to you too!
@luna @arty Hi, I quit social media a few hrs ago for my mental health, too. I’m also used to scrolling before bed, so I hope I can keep this up also. Good luck to you. Good luck to us!
When I was on social media almost a year and half ago. I felt like my life was a peace of garbage and I lost confidence of who I am. I felt like I wanted to take my life away because I felt like I wasn’t “Good Enough”. After many months of thinking about suicidal. My family, friends, teachers, and including strangers told me to get off social media. Sense then, I’ve gained my confidence back and I am looking forward what’s coming up in my next chapter of life.
Great decision
I quit my social media 6 months ago and haven’t regretted a second, it was hard a few days or weeks but eventually you’ll get used to it!
The reason why I quitted was-
Social media made me desperate, desperate for likes and attention.
I was always on a pathetic attempt to coolness where people would appreciate me.
I started realising that all these people are fake and only post the good things which makes me feel less valuable everytime I see their pathetic attempt to coolness.
Others opinion started to matter more that my own. Ps: its still there but only to a extent .
If you quit these social media you will have better productive time and can focus on something better, maybe can’t do the very moment you quit, but gradually you’ll realise you have better life cause you’ll have no misinformed information and fake people in life and you’ll become mentally decent and achieve what you want! And also most importantly when you realise this you’ll feel great about yourself!
One of the things I do all the time is block out everything and focus on the topic at hand, by disabling notifications and preventing pop-ups, I can do my work pretty well. I only use social media for my channel, I only use it for work, I never use it for my personal need, just professional.

Do you?
Omg same my manager asked everyone to make a Twitter for work
This is the video which changed me 5 years ago when I was sunk into these addiction. That one little effort that I made 5 years ago and today I am still able to control myself without any worries. Spreading your message to my friends and family.
Words are not enough to express how grateful I am to you. Thank you so much…!
