I quit social media and realized how lonely I actually am. Hopefully eventually I can cultivate a real life with real people to meet with off social media.
this is so me. my intuition is telling me i’m having a better life someday for myself tho. hopefully. after being stuck in college.
Ong quarantine showed me who really cares ab me not one family member cared only 2 childhood friends .
Right
Everybody is lonely.
You’ll realize most people suck and go back to wanting to be alone lol
I deleted all my social media permanently today. I’m almost 15, and I’m proud of myself and I feel better already. If social media is a problem for you, I encourage you to do the same. Take that first step.
I second the comment. I was telling my partner how great I feel for deactivating my accounts. It’s great!
congrats!!
im trying to start a habit of only checking social media notifications once a day, and then deleting the app. baby steps!
Man, i have an important question i really want to know the answer of… I am planning on doing the same, but the only way I stay connected with my friends are by Socail media. Because they live in the same city, but don’t go to the same school or sport club. And I am seeing them alot in real life, but we get the idea and plan it out via snapchat or instagram…. Have you had the same fear and or did you see any difference in the amount of time you spent with friends? please answer man I’m 15 too, so i think you could really help me out on this one
Hey Matt! 👋
I know chances of you seeing this is incredibly low but I started my Youtube channel thanks to your inspiration. Thank you so much. Please keep inspiring people. 🙏🙏
I am forever greatful for your content 👊
Imagine a world without social media , I think people would spend more time with family and real friends
@Marc Wesley i absolutely agree
Well, when you are like me and cannot make real friends whatever you do. It’s hard to stay away from it
I was getting really bored using social media
Like I was about to kill my self
But then I thought I’ll give up social media for 30 days
About to start from tomorrow wish me luck!
Just like the 20th century
They would be better
My mental health has been trash lately so I’ve quit social media for 3 days and I’m already feeling better.
I had a break up qnd decided quit, i stay on tiktok anda sometimes i look at Instagram, but dont be there ALL the time posting and posting….its really good
I deleted Snapchat about 3 years ago and been fighting to delete Instagram and Facebook. But I deleted the two apps 3 days ago but the only thing that matters is probably keeping my archived photos and videos into a hardrive or something . Next step is trying to delete it permanently
@Umair Azhar imessage
3 months free now 🤷🏻♂️🙏😩
hiw u achieved it
I think quarantine taught us that we should appreciate living in the moment 🙂
fr
quarantine made me appreciate my cat, twofold…
Repent , the kingdom of God is at hand , read your bible for yourself, and pray , there is nothing our there in the world ,ask God to guide and protect you ,if you have any question please ask me, Jesus loves you ;,
I found myself farting more than usual..during “quarantine”
@Lea he’s lying, he’s probably an anti-masker there was a GLOBAL lockdown/quarantine with coronavirus
It’s almost going to be a year since I left all social media platforms and I have realized that it’s a slow poison. It consumes your energy little by little on a daily basis. You put a standard for your happiness and dont value the privilege you already have. It also fills the mind with all junk and negativity.
Spending time with my family rather than spending it on social media is one of the best things I have ever done so far in my life.
Still going strong ??
@Anjali Gupta yes absolutely
@Sonakshi Srivastava same here….its been 5 yrs since i havn’t been on any social media platforms… The feeling of freedom from any kind of validation or comparison is surreal.
@Anjali Gupta hifi mate✋

@Pete YouTube is social media too. No one can make anyone quit social media and social media can create friendships..without social media there is noone creating as it can inspire others .
@umair ghazi Im having same problem
How did you fix? Reply me plz
How to do
Lol
I quit social media about a month ago…realized how alone I truly am. But guess what. It was 100% worth it. I became WAY more productive. Started doing things that I didn’t think I’d ever do. My mind just became more focused on my goals. My confidence BOOSTED in a matter of days. And it just gets better and better as the days go by. I started to see things more clearly and my personality became more vibrant in a way. Social media is millions of people living a fake life. And without it, I was TRULY myself.
Yeah I’m deleting social media to gain more confidence as I was way more confident without social media 2 yrs ago and to become more stronger and attractive
@Hmz Yeah man I like the way you think. Let’s get out of social media.
I’ve been on social media for abt 4yrs, i was 12 then, proud of myself
Being ahead of my peers managing “social acc”…I’m 16 now ,over the years I’ve gained nothing from the fake world of the media and this year in this pandamic I’m realising the game of life..and this is where my realisation have took me.. I’m leaving the public platform now.. time to mould myself “without faking being real”.🙂
Have a good day..
People in the past: I spent 2000 years without social media
Also people in the past spent 2000 years without a decent science and medicine…
200,000 years. Humans existed before Jesus Christ you know??
people in the past: i spent 2000 years talking to people face to face
“But once I got connected again, I realized one simple truth, I didnt miss a thing.” Aww, life goes on and Im happy for having social media detox
I quit social media for 3 months to focus on healing and growing as a person. It wasn’t easy, tho it’s worth it.
@Eliesa how did it go? Did you transform your life?
@Mohit Kotta I hope you’ll update us in the future hehe
@Eliesa Mae Rago Guess what? I will reply to you now :D.
It’s been exactly a month since I have done that and omg am I feeling good. For some reason when I had my instagram account, I always felt the urge to share stories that I liked hoping others will like it too. This created a liability and occupied a good chunk of my limited brain.
My social media handles are no more and youtube is my only social site that I use. ( being judicious on it as well )
One more observation I had was that I kept myself engaged the most with either studies or interacting with family members at home…this game me a huge productivity boost and also quenched satisfaction within. I was not able to live that “Minimalistic” life as we call it but I had a good experience in the last month.
So in a nutshell, this helped me a lot, enhanced focus and most importantly am finding a day a bit longer…This was my experience…how are you doing? Hope you are doing well : )
Thats great😃😃😃😃
@Mohit Kotta We are all in the same phase of life hehhe! Let’s just concentrate on our own happiness and peace. We live the best life when we Love ourselves ❤️.
I’ve been off social media for about 6 months now and now I feel like a whole new person. It’s helped mentally and actually physically. I rarely watch YouTube and when I do, it’s limited. In all, it was the best choice I’ve made in a while.
The best part about Matt is that since he’s a minimalist, he never includes anything that he doesn’t need to, so I know I don’t have to worry abt “wasting time” when I watch his vids.
It’s kinda sad seeing the kids, as young as 11 saying they’re addicted to their phones. Hopefully the next generation of parents will learn from their own addictions, like the previous one did from cigarettes and not give their children phones
I don’t think you need to be told that there’s a huge difference between giving your 11 year old a phone and giving your child a cigarette
I’m on day 5 and feeling pretty good. I actually don’t have any desire to share anything. I’m actually spending more time with my daughter and getting out of funk. Praying I can make it a full 30 days.
